GovCIO is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications as part of the VA Data Modernization initiative. The role is fully remote and based in the United States.

Responsibilities include collaborating with product owners, applying Agile practices, mentoring mid-level engineers, and shaping technical solutions while ensuring secure, scalable systems with CI/CD and strong code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and 12 years of experience.
• Expertise with Java frameworks: Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA.
• Strong RESTful API design and modern JavaScript proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of complex applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to mid-level engineers.
• Design robust CI/CD pipelines and improve delivery processes.
