Job summary

Seneca Resources Company, LLC is seeking three Senior Software Engineers to support an active, awarded technology program. Remote position with a contract-to-hire arrangement, focusing on designing, developing, and enhancing scalable software in distributed, multi-tier environments.

You will collaborate with teams, contribute to modernization initiatives, and promote strong software engineering practices while leveraging AI-enabled tools to boost productivity and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on AI software development experience.
• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and multi-tier architectures.
• Experience with storage, caching, application layers, and microservice architectures.
• Exposure to high-throughput systems and scalable design.
• Knowledge of cloud engineering, asynchronous systems, and service integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production-ready software using Java.
• Build and enhance distributed systems across storage, caching, and application layers.
• Develop and integrate microservices for high-throughput systems.
• Apply cloud engineering principles, asynchronous processing, and service integration patterns.
• Contribute to system architecture, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
• Apply design patterns, reliability, scalability, and performance best practices.
• Use AI and automation tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery outcomes.
• Take ownership of technical challenges from analysis to implementation and documentation.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor peers and junior developers while advocating for sound engineering practices.
