This fully remote role guides architectural decisions across distributed teams, focusing on scalable, secure grid solutions (SCADA, AMI, DER, microgrids).

You will drive technology selection, collaborate with software and data teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power/Smart Grids.
10+ years in electrical engineering with 6+ years in power systems and smart grids.
Experience in grid modernization including SCADA, AMI, DER, and microgrids.
Proven architecture design and technology selection for complex electrical systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and ability to guide remote teams.
Pr. Eng./ECSA is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

Architect and design smart grid systems including automation, DR, and renewable integration.
Develop high-level designs, specs, and interfaces for grid components and platforms.
Evaluate technologies for grid modernization (sensors, protocols, control software).
Analyze grid performance, reliability, and security to identify improvements.
Collaborate with software, data science, and power engineers to ensure IT/OT integration.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams.
Develop proposals, reports, and white papers for stakeholders.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
