Job summary

Planet is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join the Direct Access Service Infrastructure team. You will design, deploy, and operate critical compute software that supports end-to-end imaging operations across customer on-prem and cloud environments.

You’ll partner with cross‑functional engineers to enable robust, scalable deployments and maintain high availability for demanding satellite data workloads.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building cloud-native services.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar.
• Experience with on‑prem and cloud Kubernetes deployments.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Helm and Kustomize.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy and operate compute services in customer environments.
• Ensure reliability, scalability and availability of services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate solutions.
• Lead on‑prem and cloud deployments with strong automation and testing.
