Job summary

Sanctuary Computer Inc is seeking a Senior Shopify Developer to lead high-performance storefront builds. You will work with our Design and Development Team on custom Liquid themes and headless Hydrogen/Remix/Next.js implementations for top clients.

The role emphasizes frontend excellence, accessibility, and scalable architectures, with a remote-first, contract-based arrangement and global project scope.

Qualifications

• 8+ years writing highly performant frontend code with Lighthouse scores 95+.
• Deep Shopify ecosystem mastery: custom themes (Liquid, Online Store 2.0) and headless storefronts.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Tailwind CSS; strong animation skills.
• Experience merging Shopify with headless CMSs and integrations (Klaviyo, Stripe).
• Fluency with Vercel/Netlify and Shopify Oxygen.
• State management experience (Zustand, Redux).
• WCAG-compliant accessible interfaces and SEO focus.
• Testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, Cypress).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Tech Leads and Designers to meet clients' custom e-commerce and technical needs.
• Build storefronts using Liquid and headless Shopify (GraphQL, Hydrogen/Remix, Next.js).
• Implement responsive, accessible interfaces per design specs.
• Integrate storefronts with headless CMS platforms (Sanity, Contentful) and payment gateways.
• Optimize Core Web Vitals and asset delivery for performance.
• Architect reusable component libraries and design systems for commerce platforms.
• Write documentation for store management and integrations.
• Participate in Sprint Planning, daily standups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
