Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support the vulnerability management lifecycle for a remote contract role. You will operate and maintain scanning capabilities, analyze findings, and coordinate remediation across application and infrastructure teams in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have 5+ years in cybersecurity, strong communication skills, and experience with Tenable products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity with focus on vulnerability management.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability lifecycle and risk-based remediation.
• Experience with Tenable products, preferably Tenable Security Center.
• Ability to analyze vulnerabilities and provide actionable guidance.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and cross-team coordination.
• Preferred: Azure, GCP, PCI/HIPAA/SOX, scripting, Brinqa or similar platforms, OT exposure.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end vulnerability management from identification to remediation guidance.
• Operate and maintain vulnerability scanning capabilities (Tenable Security Center).
• Analyze findings, assess risk, and communicate priorities to tech teams.
• Develop remediation guidance and suggest compensating controls when needed.
• Coordinate remediation with application owners and infrastructure teams.
• Create clear technical docs for independent execution by partner teams.
• Support ingestion of findings in Brinqa or similar platforms.
• Work across Windows, Linux, cloud and other environments for vulnerability activities.
• Align processes with PCI, HIPAA, and SOX requirements.
• Research new vulnerabilities and technologies as needed.
