Job summary

Aledade PBC is seeking a Senior Security Engineer II to design, implement, and maintain security services that scale with our health-tech platform. The role emphasizes cross-functional partnership, incident leadership, and automating security at scale from our remote teams or Bethesda head office.

You will work on secure SDLC, threat modeling, and automated testing across AWS/Azure/GCP environments while mentoring junior staff and refining security policies.

Qualifications

• BS/BTech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 10 years security domain experience without degree.
• 6+ years securing and deploying applications within Cloud Native environments.
• 3+ years in a dedicated application security role with focus on secure SDLC and DevSecOps.
• Knowledge of health-tech systems (PHI, EHR) preferred.
• Experience architecting, deploying large-scale distributed systems at scale.
• Extensive experience identifying, evaluating and triaging vulnerabilities with SAST/DAST tools.
• Code reviews and threat modeling.
• Automated security testing and validation systems using Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, etc.
• Proficient in Python, R, C++, JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Security controls for web-based SaaS apps (API Security, WAF).
• AI/LLM security architectures and best practices.
• OWASP Top 10 knowledge and remediation practices.
• Server-side web technologies (Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, Go).
• 4+ years as a trusted technical decision-maker.
• Health-tech systems experience preferred.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security solutions that continuously improve and automate capabilities.
• Leverage data to understand trends and drive security improvements with stakeholders.
• Lead incident response and remediation efforts across cross-functional teams.
• Craft and refine security documentation such as policies, standards, baselines, and SOPs.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers or analysts.
