Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Scientific Data Engineer to join a fully remote team positioned to serve MA residents. You will design and implement scientific data solutions at scale, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, architecture, and customer teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years building data products, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience leading跨‑functional projects in data-centric environments, with a focus on quality and delivery in Agile settings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building data products as a Data Engineer or related technical role.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data models.
• Experience leading projects, managing requirements, and driving delivery timelines.
• Agile development experience and strong collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scientific data engineering solutions.
• Partner with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and stakeholders to define data requirements.
• Build scalable data models, integration frameworks, and data processing pipelines.
• Develop reusable Python libraries, schema components, and parsing frameworks.
• Create high-quality data pipelines with testing and validation practices.
• Build data applications, dashboards, and reporting tools for users.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and production readiness across deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, PMs, and ML teams to deliver impact.
• Work with customers to validate business value and outcomes.
