Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Java software development experience
• 5+ years of hands-on Scala programming development expertise (this is a must have)
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Demonstrated skills with functional programming paradigms, distributed systems, version control with Git, build tools including Maven, and SQL databases

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust server-side applications using Scala and Java
• Create robust and scalable APIs with efficient data processing and business logic
• Support distributed systems, version control with Git, and build tools like Maven
• Write comprehensive unit tests and ensure reliability and scalability of backend services
• Engage in requirements analysis, system architecture design, and performance optimization
• Define technical specifications, ensure data integrity and security, address design weaknesses
• Independently analyze and resolve complex problems and mentor junior team members
• Participate in design reviews and support system integration and testing efforts
• Demonstrate strong understanding of Scala, functional programming, and modern backend practices
