Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer to bridge civil engineering know-how with design, estimating, and active collaboration across BCSS and brand sales teams.

The role emphasizes developing preliminary structural designs for conventional and PEMB buildings and delivering professional proposals. You will review drawings, coordinate with suppliers, prepare estimates, and support the sales organization to meet revenue and margin targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with 5 years in construction.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with structural design of conventional and steel buildings (3+ years).
• Experience applying building codes into design and proposals (IBC, ASCE, AISC CFE2008, SJI, SDI, REP2014, NSR-10).
• Strong written and verbal communication; client presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary structural designs for conventional and PEMB buildings.
• Coordinate with internal/external suppliers and prepare proposals.
• Review drawings and specs to define scope and estimate costs.
• Support sales teams to achieve revenue targets and margin plans; travel up to 5%.
