Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Sales Engineer to bridge civil engineering design, estimating, and customer proposals for conventional and PEMB buildings. You will develop preliminary structural designs, coordinate with suppliers, and deliver professional proposals while aligning with sales strategy.

The role requires a Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering degree, a PE, and 5+ years in construction with 3+ years in structural design. Remote work is allowed in multiple states with up to 5% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, plus five years in construction.
• PE Required.
• Minimum of three years in structural design of conventional and steel buildings; two years in proposal, estimating, or sales.
• Experience implementing codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC CFE2008, SJI, SDI, REP2014, NSR-10) into design/proposals.
• Experience with building design programs and interpreting information from other engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client presentations.
• Remote work allowed from AL, AR, CA, FL, GA, IL, KS, MI, MS, MO, NV, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WA, WI; up to 5% national travel.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings/specs to identify scope for proposals.
• Develop plan to obtain outside engineering resources and supplier quotes; deliver proposals.
• Create preliminary structural designs for conventional steel and PEMB buildings; include drawings.
• Coordinate with BCSS management and brand sales to define margins and promote BCSS.
• Communicate with customers on requirements and proposal delivery schedules.
• Support sales teams with initiatives and travel as needed.
