MEDHOST, a division of Harris, seeks a Senior Software Engineer with deep IBM i/RPG expertise to design, develop, test, and debug complex solutions in a healthcare tech environment.

You will lead architectural discussions, estimate effort, and mentor junior staff while ensuring secure, maintainable code aligned with MEDHOST standards. This remote role welcomes candidates across the United States.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in commercial product development and RPG/IBM i focus.
• 7+ years of commercial product development experience.
• Proficiency in RPGLE/RPG IV, CL, Db2 for i, SQL, JSON and REST integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex IBM i/RPG development and modernization efforts.
• Mentor junior developers and guide architectural discussions.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and drive tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability per MEDHOST standards.
• Support production troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adapt to AI-enabled development tools to enhance efficiency.
