Job summary

CookUnity, a US-based platform connecting chefs with diners, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Revenue Engine. You’ll build end-to-end revenue systems, including campaigns and payments, collaborating with Product, Marketing, Finance, and BizOps to deliver scalable solutions.

You will design backend services, work on frontend with React/TypeScript, and mentor teammates while enhancing observability and reliability to support growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building production-grade backend systems in complex/high-growth environments.
• Hands-on experience developing modern frontend applications, ideally with React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, TypeScript, and SQL databases.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions from requirements and design through implementation and production support.
• Strong understanding of reliability, scalability, observability, and performance best practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, break down complex problems, and drive execution in cross-functional environments.
• Strong English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and contributing to a strong engineering culture.
• Support the on-call rotation to help the business run 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end revenue-related systems.
• Develop scalable backend services and customer- or internal-facing applications that support core revenue operations.
• Drive technical design and architecture decisions with a focus on scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, and BizOps to translate business goals into robust technical solutions.
• Improve system observability, resilience, and operational excellence across revenue-critical services.
• Lead projects from discovery and technical planning through implementation, rollout, and post-launch optimization.
• Contribute to high engineering standards through coding practices, reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team’s technical bar through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency, system quality, and long-term health through better tooling and architecture.
