Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required with four years of experience; education verified.
• Master’s degree with two years experience; education verified.
• Computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and non-routine tasks with in-depth analysis; identifies alternatives and recommends solutions.
• Manages reimbursement processes: reconciliation of G/L accounts, contractual allowances, and variances; interacts with HIM, PAS, and hospital finance staff.
• Prepares monthly Medicare and Medicaid settlement and policy reserve calculations.
• Prepares or reviews cost reports and surveys; reviews audit adjustments and settlements; files appeals.
• Mentors teammates and coordinates training for reimbursement functions.
• Stays current on reimbursement laws and determines impact on hospital operations.
