The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid methodologies, regulatory changes, and experience driving settlements and financial analyses in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field with four years of experience.
• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field with two years of experience.
• Computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and non-routine tasks requiring in-depth analysis with alternatives and recommendations.
• Manages reimbursement processes (reconciliation of third-party G/L accounts; calculation of contractual allowances and variances; monitoring claims).
• Prepares monthly Medicare and Medicaid settlement and policy reserve calculations.
• Prepares or reviews cost reports and surveys; reviews audit adjustments and settlements; files appeals and exceptions.
• Acts as a mentor; may coordinate and train staff in reimbursement functions.
• Keeps current on reimbursement laws and impacts on hospital operations with minimal supervision.
• Manages work scope, deadlines, and deliverables; develops and revises procedures and standards.
• Investigates changes in reimbursement and communicates impacts to leadership.
• Responsible for 2+ hospitals or 1+ hospital and Central Office assignments.
