Job summary

Lake Michigan Credit Union is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer III to own the test automation framework, set the strategy for complex work, and drive upstream quality improvements with engineers and product owners. You will mentor junior QA engineers while elevating automation standards.

You will collaborate across Agile teams to define acceptance criteria, integrate testing into CI/CD, and ensure security and performance testing are part of delivery. This remote role supports national scope.

Qualifications

• Hands-on test automation development and ownership of a test framework
• Bachelor's or Associate in CIS/CS or equivalent practical experience
• Expertise in test automation, framework design, CI/CD integration, and automated quality practices
• Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles across functional, API, performance and security testing
• Experience leading quality initiatives within Agile environments, including mentoring and code reviews
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools and responsible adoption of AI-driven QA solutions

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the test automation framework and architecture
• Establish patterns, shared libraries, and coding standards for test code
• Review test code written by other engineers and uphold reliability standards
• Define test strategy and risk model for complex cross-system work including third-party integrations
• Decide what gets automated, at what layer, and what is validated otherwise
• Collaborate with development from analysis and design forward
• Analyze requirements for testability and acceptance criteria before build
• Design and maintain the quality gates in the CI/CD pipeline
• Integrate automated, performance, and security testing into the delivery pipeline
• Evaluate QA processes and tooling, identify gaps, and drive improvements
• Review test results and quality signals and act on findings
• Mentor and coach Quality Engineers and developers on automation and testing practices
• Serve as escalation point for difficult defects and rare failures
• Champion company values of curiosity, collaboration, and excellence
• Adhere to laws and regulations such as BSA and OFAC
