Job summary

Lake Michigan Credit Union is seeking a Quality Engineer I to support automated and manual tests within an Agile team. You’ll learn the automation framework, contribute to test coverage, and grow toward independent ownership of testing for a product area.

In this role you’ll write automated tests, run CI/CD validations, and collaborate in backlog refinement and sprint planning. A strong foundation in programming, testing concepts, and a curiosity for AI-assisted testing will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years of related experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in CIS/CS or a mathematical field of study.
• Foundational experience with programming/scripting, test automation, and software testing concepts across the development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and SQL-based data validation.
• Experience or exposure to test automation tools and frameworks, including API, browser, and AI-driven testing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain automated tests within the established framework.
• Execute manual, exploratory, and regression testing against acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, and reproduce defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and evidence.
• Monitor automated test runs in the CI/CD pipeline and triage failures.
• Prepare test data and support test environments, including installing and updating software in lower environments.
• Attend backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily standup; raise testability concerns to the team.
• Maintain test documentation and release validation records.
• Adhere to and champion core values and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
