Job summary

Paradigm Information Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for a remote contract role. The senior candidate will perform manual and automated testing, including SQL-backed backend tests, and mentor the QA team.

You will collaborate across engineers and analysts to ensure high-quality software in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on automated testing, test plan development, and rigorous validation of multi-tier applications, with a 12-month contract and pay rate

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software QA experience.
• Proficient in manual and automated testing.
• Experience with white-box and black-box testing.
• Experience with smoke, sanity, regression and UAT testing.
• Hands-on test automation with Selenium or Playwright.
• 3+ years database testing; SQL reading/writing/executing queries.
• Experience in Agile software development lifecycle.
• Experience testing multi-tier client/server apps.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, execute, and maintain test plans and cases for component to UAT levels.
• Perform manual testing (smoke, sanity, regression, UAT).
• Build and maintain automated scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
• Test new and existing application functionality for reliability and defect-free operation.
• Perform back-end/database testing and SQL queries.
• Review requirements to identify gaps, risks, and testing needs.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, stakeholders, and QA teams.
• Document defects, verify fixes, and report QA metrics.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and testing throughout SDLC.
• Lead QA activities and mentor automation testing practices.
