Paradigm Information Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support our client, a global provider of technology-enabled legal services.

This remote, contract role requires hands-on testing across multi-tier applications with a focus on back-end data and SQL validation. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of QA experience, strong automation skills (Selenium/Playwright), and the ability to mentor other QA team members.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software QA/testing experience.
• Strong manual and automated testing experience.
• Experience with white-box and black-box testing strategies.
• Experience building/maintaining automated test scripts with Selenium or Playwright.
• 3+ years of database testing and SQL query expertise.
• 3+ years in an Agile software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, execute, and maintain test plans and test cases from unit to UAT.
• Perform manual testing including smoke, sanity, regression, and UAT.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
• Conduct back-end/database testing including test data creation and SQL queries.
• Review requirements to identify gaps, risks, and testing needs.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to support the SDLC.
• Identify, document, and verify defects and fixes efficiently.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and QA activities throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and report QA metrics such as test coverage and confidence.
• Mentor other QA team members in automation testing practices.

Paradigm is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support our client, a global provider of technology-enabled legal services. This is a senior, hands-on QA role supporting the development and enhancement of scalable, high-volume software workflows used in complex class action and remediation programs.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of manual and automated testing experience, with particular strength in back‑end and data‑intensive applications. You should be comfortable building and maintaining automated test scripts, writing SQL queries, working closely with developers and business analysts, and serving as a technical resource and mentor to other QA team members.

This environment includes both new development and enhancement of existing applications, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA professional who enjoys solving complex problems and helping improve the overall quality and maturity of the testing process.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:

• Develop, document, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases covering component-level testing through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Perform manual testing, including smoke, sanity, regression, and UAT testing.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
• Test new and existing application functionality to ensure software is reliable, defect‑free, and performs as intended.
• Perform back‑end and database testing, including creating test data and writing and executing SQL queries.
• Review business and technical requirements to identify gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and testing requirements.
• Partner closely with software engineers, business analysts, business stakeholders, and other QA professionals throughout the development lifecycle.
• Identify, document, report, and troubleshoot software defects and verify fixes accurately and efficiently.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and support testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and report QA metrics, including test coverage and test confidence.
• Help advance test automation practices while determining when manual testing provides the most effective coverage.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for other QA team members, providing guidance and coaching in automation testing and QA best practices.
• Work directly with the Engineering Manager and help provide leadership and direction across QA activities.
• Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Requirements

You bring:

• 5+ years of experience in software Quality Assurance and testing.
• Strong experience with both manual and automated software testing.
• Experience with white‑box and black‑box testing strategies.
• Demonstrated experience performing smoke, sanity, regression, and User Acceptance Testing.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
• 3+ years of database testing experience, including the ability to read, write, and execute SQL queries.
• 3+ years of experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle.
• 3+ years of experience testing multi‑tier client/server applications.
• Understanding of software development frameworks, application architecture concepts, and software engineering terminology.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or Microsoft Visual Studio Team System.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues and apply strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction while collaborating effectively within cross‑functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to coach other QA professionals in automation testing techniques and practices.
