Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant to lead property risk engineering for complex manufacturing operations and high-hazard accounts.

The role emphasizes on-site inspections, deep sprinkler and NFPA knowledge, and practical risk improvement recommendations. This fully remote, full-time position is open to candidates based in Tennessee with regional travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
• 8+ years in technical and/or engineering related experience.
• Must have property experience, inclusive of high hazard property exposure.
• Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards or equivalent (Factory Mutual Guidelines).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of Excel.
• Must be able to travel by car regularly (limited air travel).
• Good command of fundamental and advanced technical concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate difficult or technical decisions with confidence and precision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property risk assessments for existing and prospective policyholders.
• Generate technical property risk engineering reports and recommend controls to minimize losses.
• Collaborate with Risk Analysts to address identified deficiencies.
• Mentor junior Risk Engineering Consultants as needed.
• Coordinate with internal/external resources on varied risk levels.
• Travel as required to insured locations within the region.
