Job summary

The Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, seeks an experienced Principal Specialist to deliver detailed risk evaluations and risk control services for high-risk occupancies. You will work with underwriters and engineers to interpret design, condition, and operations, and to guide loss control initiatives.

15+ years in related fields and 5+ years leading projects are preferred. Remote work options may be available within the USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline preferred.
• 15+ years in operations, maintenance, inspection, or insurance engineering for high risk occupancies.
• 5+ years leading personnel or major equipment projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting by delivering timely, targeted risk evaluations for high risk occupancies.
• Apply engineering expertise to improve/manage risk through account engineering and loss control initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and maintain engineering guidelines; train other risk control staff.
