The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant to lead on-site risk assessments for high-hazard property accounts. The role emphasizes expertise in complex manufacturing operations, fire protection systems, and actionable risk improvement recommendations.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in technical engineering with NFPA knowledge, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 8+ years of technical/engineering experience; property risk exposure experience required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA Codes/Standards or similar guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex risk decisions clearly.
• Willingness to travel by car regularly; some overnight travel possible.
• Proven ability to conduct site inspections and generate actionable risk reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site property risk engineering inspections for existing and limited prospective policyholders.
• Generate technical risk reports identifying exposures and recommending controls to minimize losses.
• Collaborate with Risk Analysts to resolve identified deficiencies.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on audits and reports.
• Coordinate with internal/external resources on risks of varying complexity.
