About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking leader in the AgriTech sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to drive innovative projects from their remote office. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be instrumental in managing the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies aimed at revolutionizing agricultural practices. This role demands a strong understanding of both project management principles and the agricultural technology landscape. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex timelines, and ensure the successful delivery of projects that have a significant impact on sustainable farming. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of AgriTech innovation projects, from concept to deployment.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with strategic goals.
• Develop and execute detailed project plans, including resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
• Foster strong collaboration and communication within distributed project teams, including engineers, scientists, and field specialists.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and critical path challenges.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular, transparent project status reports.
• Ensure adherence to agile development methodologies and best practices.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and pilot programs in agricultural settings.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and team performance.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and pipeline development for future AgriTech initiatives.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a substantial focus on technology, innovation, or R&D projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects, ideally in a remote or distributed environment.
• Strong understanding of AgriTech, sustainable agriculture, or related fields is highly advantageous.
• Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate remote teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
• Must be comfortable working remotely and demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and organization.
