Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a leader in agricultural technology, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the deployment of innovative AgriTech solutions. This role is based in the heart of the winelands, Paarl, Western Cape , and operates on a Hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote work and essential on-site presence. You will be responsible for managing projects that integrate smart farming technologies, data analytics platforms, and precision agriculture tools to enhance crop yields and operational efficiency for our clients in the agricultural sector. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of agricultural practices and a proven ability to manage technology projects from conception to completion, working closely with both technical teams and farming stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for AgriTech solution implementations, from initial scoping and client onboarding to deployment and support.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with engineering, software development, and field operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Engage with clients (farmers, agricultural businesses) to understand their needs, manage expectations, and ensure satisfaction with the deployed solutions.
• Oversee the installation and configuration of hardware (sensors, IoT devices) and software platforms.
• Ensure projects adhere to quality standards and deliver measurable improvements in agricultural productivity or efficiency.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Provide regular project status updates to internal management and external clients, tailoring communication to different audiences.
• Maintain project documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2) is a strong asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, with a focus on technology implementation projects.
• Experience or strong interest in AgriTech, precision farming, IoT in agriculture, or related fields is essential.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles and data analytics.
• Ability to work effectively in a Hybrid model, requiring regular engagement at the Paarl, Western Cape site and collaboration with remote teams.
