Job summary

Smithfield Foods seeks an experienced engineer to join our Engineering team for designing and managing projects that optimize production processes across facilities. You will lead design efforts, perform feasibility studies, prepare cost estimates, and coordinate with vendors and plant teams to keep initiatives on schedule.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years of experience, knowledge of food processing, and strong PM and AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or related field, plus 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry is preferred.
• Must possess Project Management skills and familiarity with multi-million-dollar projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and engineering economics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering designs, material specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
• Direct vendors and contractors on layout planning and utility requirements.
• Prepare proposals, define project scope, and monitor installations to meet specs, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage project budgets and contract administration.
