Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data-driven financial analysis, cost forecasting, and performance insights across projects. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with project managers and field operations to drive accuracy and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities include building forecasts, managing cost reporting, and developing analytics models to forecast future costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related analytical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Python, and/or SQL is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to modeling and interpretation.
• Highly effective communicator who can translate complex technical data into business terms for senior leadership.
• Detail-oriented, motivated self-starter, with ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts with project managers and field operations.
• Lead monthly cost reporting with variance analyses and executive-ready insights.
• Develop analytics models to forecast future project cost from historical data.
• Assist with budget mapping and ensure fiscal accuracy across the department.
• Analyze cost, schedule, and resource variance and drive mitigation actions.
• Create cost tracking systems and provide insights to leadership.
• Collaborate with teams to gather cost data and identify trends.
• Identify cost savings and process improvements via analysis.
• Synthesize data into clear narratives and executive decks with recommendations.
• Engage in field visits to understand challenges and support solutions.
• Conduct scenario planning and develop contingency plans.
• Lead data quality audits and resolve discrepancies with field teams.
• Mentor analysts to increase team impact.
