Shutterfly seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation Agentic AI platforms and applications driving personalization and customer journeys. Remote role based in the United States, with preference for Phoenix, Dallas, or Charlotte areas.

You will own architecture, build multi-agent systems, and mentor engineers to deliver AI-powered experiences. Expect to lead technical strategy, ensure scalable infrastructure, and measure success with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
12+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems.
Proven track record architecting and delivering large-scale systems.
Experience influencing cross-organizational technical strategy.
Strong hands-on coding and system design skills.
Experience operating large-scale, highly available cloud systems.
Ability translate advanced technology into business impact.

Responsibilities

Architect and build scalable agentic AI systems that power customer experiences.
Develop multi-agent systems that reason, plan, and act across tools and services.
Lead end-to-end technical strategy and architecture for AI platforms across Shutterfly.
Be deeply hands-on in prototyping, architecture, and production systems.
Define AI performance metrics and business KPIs; drive measurable outcomes.
Mentor engineers and lead AI-first development practices across teams.
