Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an experienced Project Management Technical Director to lead the Northern and Central California Subregion, overseeing complex environmental projects and client relationships. You will translate strategy into actionable plans and ensure delivery on time and on budget.

Reporting to the VP, you will drive project management standards, mentor teams, and support growth while maintaining high quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources, environmental planning, geology, engineering, geography, business administration, project management, or a related discipline.
• Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in project management, project controls, program management, or a related professional services environment.
• Six (6) years of leadership experience within a consulting, environmental services, engineering, or professional services organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement strategic initiatives to drive project management consistency.
• Maintain a suite of project management standards, processes, tools, and templates.
• Strengthen cross-discipline collaboration across offices within the subregion.
• Champion cross-discipline communication for tools, standards, and processes.
• Lead change management for rollout of PM practices and tools.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of project performance.
• Track Project Management Plans and support PMs in development and implementation.
• Identify and track KPIs that support growth and performance.
