SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Principal Natural Resources Team Lead to guide multidisciplinary natural resources projects in Northern California, with emphasis on aquatic resources, permitting, and regulatory strategy. The role combines leadership, project management, and client engagement to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Biology, Environmental Science, Fish and Wildlife Science, Ecology, or a related field.
• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in biological fieldwork, environmental consulting, and project management.
• Experience authoring natural resources reports and environmental documentation for various projects.
• Knowledge of NEPA, CEQA, ESA and related regulations.
• Experience supervising and mentoring professional staff.

Responsabilités

• Lead preparation and review of biological resources reports, assessments, wetland delineations, and NEPA/CEQA documents.
• Develop survey protocols and oversee field surveys for sensitive habitats and species.
• Prepare permitting, compliance, and planning documentation for NEPA, CEQA, ESA, and CWA.
• Support NR team planning, growth, and operational objectives across CALPAC.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to NR project managers and staff.
• Lead proposal development and evaluate business development opportunities.
• Represent SWCA in industry organizations to expand client relationships.
