Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Lead Project Manager - Environmental Planning to guide complex natural resources projects from planning through permitting to construction. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, schedules, and client expectations, and ensure compliance with federal and state agencies.

This role emphasizes leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on QA/QC of field data and reports, with travel across the Gulf Coast and Southeast regions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field is required.
• Demonstrated client management and business development experience (seller-doer).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and supervise staff.
• Experience with project financials (budgets, forecasting, invoicing).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary environmental planning, natural resources, cultural resources, and permitting services.
• Manage and lead project teams supporting energy, infrastructure, land development, and other client projects, including federal NEPA documentation.
• Act as regulatory and permit-compliance liaison between agencies and clients.
• Review invoices, expenditures, and project audits in collaboration with accounting.
• Provide peer review for technical reports and environmental permits to ensure integrity.
• Implement SWCA safety procedures and ethical standards.
• Communicate with diverse project stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and clients.
• Oversee project milestones, schedules, and budgets to meet client expectations and SWCA standards.
