Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer specializing in hyperscale data centers to lead plumbing design. This remote role can be based anywhere in the US with occasional travel for client meetings and milestones.

You will drive technical design, sign off on critical work, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable data center plumbing systems and successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in building systems engineering, with a primary focus on plumbing design on large buildings.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of applicable local and national building codes.
• Proficient in making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing.
• Must have well-rounded background in plumbing project design and delivery to meet various challenges.
• Willing to travel as required.
• Knowledge of sustainable plumbing design and basic LEED building practices.

Responsibilities

• Serves as lead engineer on hyperscale data center projects.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Approves and signs off on work.
• Collaborates with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications and design criteria.
• Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
• Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
• Participates in development of technical proposals.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
