Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer specializing in hyperscale data centers to act as Data Center Plumbing Lead. Based remotely in the US with occasional site visits, you will design plumbing systems for large-scale facilities and lead technical delivery for clients worldwide.

You will collaborate with global teams, provide technical leadership, and manage budget/schedule estimates for major projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in building systems engineering with a focus on plumbing design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of local and national building codes.
• Proficient in engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing.
• Willing to travel as required.
• Knowledge of sustainable plumbing design and LEED building practices.

Responsibilities

• Serves as lead engineer on hyperscale data center projects.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's area of expertise.
• Approves and signs off on work.
• Collaborates with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications and design criteria.
• Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
• Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
• Participates in development of technical proposals.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
