Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer specializing in hyperscale data centers to lead plumbing design efforts. The role is primarily remote with occasional site visits across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in building systems engineering, with a primary focus on plumbing system design on large buildings.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of applicable local and national building codes.
• Proficient in making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing.
• Must have well-rounded background in plumbing project design and delivery to meet various challenges.
• Willing to travel as required.
• Knowledge of sustainable plumbing design and basic LEED building practices.
• 10+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred).
• Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) (preferred).
• Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serves as lead engineer on hyperscale data center projects.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Approves and signs off on work.
• Collaborates with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications and design criteria.
• Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
• Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
• Participates in development of technical proposals.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
