Ladders is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a growing, remote US-based engineering team focused on platform architecture, scalability, and reliability. You will partner with engineering and product leadership to set technical direction, improve delivery, and drive strong operational outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on leadership role requires building high-performing teams while advancing modern cloud and AI-enabled engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years managing platform or foundational engineering teams in fast-paced settings.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong programming skills in languages like Go, Python, TypeScript, or Ruby.
• Experience with SQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) in large-scale production environments.
• Proven track record in operational excellence, including incident response and deployment management.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development methodologies.
• Proactive leader with strong communication skills in cross-functional contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead hiring and development of a growing engineering team from 7 to 12+ members.
• Foster a high-trust, high-standards culture that challenges and supports engineers.
• Establish clear quarterly delivery goals and drive accountability for meeting them.
• Shape technical strategy and architecture for platform and infrastructure initiatives.
• Ensure operational excellence and reliability through strong on-call and incident management practices.
• Maintain oversight of deployment and release processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Engage actively with team members in daily operations to unblock challenges swiftly.
