Lumen is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to apply approved technologies and architectures for growth, supporting all Lumen business units and ensuring best-in-class customer experiences within a defined territory. This is a work-from-home role across the United States.

The Senior Planning Engineer will oversee plant construction, capacity trends, market strategy, and cross-functional collaboration with Transport, Field Operations, and more, while managing budgets and staying current with

Qualifications

• 6+ years of consulting-level experience; Bachelor's degree required; 4+ years with a Master's.
• 4+ years inside/outside plant telecom with ISP/OSP knowledge.
• Strong objective focus in dynamic, multi-faceted environment.
• Proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans for new OSP/ISP plant construction or modifications.
• Monitors capacity trends; advises leadership on actions.
• Defines market strategies for 3–5 year tech transformation.
• Supports cross-functional teams in Transport, Field Ops, and more.
• Prepares specs with field data; supports capital budgeting.
• Monitors expenditures and oversees installation/testing.
• Keeps up with industry developments and trends.
• Requires minimal direction.
