Job summary

Royper Royco LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Certificate Management to design and operate cryptographic infrastructure and certificate systems in a zero-trust environment.

You will lead architecture, implement high-availability services, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Security, Product, and Policy teams. This remote role supports distributed platforms and external partners across the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with distributed systems.
• Deep PKI and cryptography expertise, including certificate authorities and X.509 lifecycles.
• Experience automating certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and trust chains; strong private-key protection.
• Proficient in Go, Java, C++, or Rust, with Go-heavy environment experience.
• Experience operating Tier-0 infrastructure with emphasis on security, resilience and low latency.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into secure, maintainable solutions.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience using generative AI with human oversight to improve productivity/quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of cryptographic infrastructure including certificate systems.
• Define multi-quarter technical strategies for scalable cryptographic needs.
• Design and operate high-availability services for certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, trust-chain distribution.
• Own complex initiatives involving secure protocols and private key protection under strict security and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure reliability, security, and performance of distributed systems in a zero-trust environment.
• Promote engineering quality through code reviews and architectural practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and improve cross-functional collaboration.
• Align with Security, Product, Policy to deliver critical initiatives.
• Apply generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.
