Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Security Platform Engineering group to lead cryptographic infrastructure and certificate management that underpins all Coinbase systems.

You will define technical strategies with a multi-quarter horizon, own high-risk initiatives, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Security, Product, and Policy teams to ensure secure, low-latency delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering building highly available distributed systems.
• Deep PKI/cryptography expertise with CA operations, X.509 lifecycle automation, and secure key handling.
• Experience in Golang, Java, C++, or Rust in a Golang-heavy environment.
• Proven track record delivering Tier-0 or critical infrastructure with low latency.
• Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for large projects with regulatory considerations.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Lead the architecture and execution of cryptographic infrastructure.
