Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Staff Senior Pharmacist to coordinate patient pharmaceutical needs in care areas and supervise students and staff. The role requires ensuring appropriate dosing, route, and frequency, and reviewing medication profiles for interactions and allergies.

Responsibilities include approving drug orders, coordinating with physicians and nurses, and delivering educational programs to hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Ohio; advanced degree (Pharm.D./MS), and one year of residency training and/or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approve and distribute medication orders with attention to dosing, route, frequency and duration.
• Screen for drug-drug, drug-herb/dietary supplement, drug-allergy, drug-food interactions and coordinate with Dietetics.
• Coordinate patients' pharmaceutical needs with physicians and nurses.
• Supervise Pharm.D. students, technicians and teaching of students; provide educational programs for hospital staff.
