Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Performance Accountability Specialist to lead the most complex, high-risk performance cases for under-performing non-contract salaried employees across regions. You will partner with Legal, HRBPs, and managers to ensure compliant, high-quality outcomes through informal and formal stages.

You will mentor others, shape standards, and drive improvements in tools, templates, and workflows while analyzing KPI trends to inform leadership discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive HR, Employee Relations, Performance Management, or related experience.
• Deep expertise in formal performance management and accountability frameworks.
• Strong experience with HRIS or case management systems, preferably Workday.
• Proven ability to partner with Legal on sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end management of the most complex and high-risk performance accountability cases.
• Advise on formal performance accountability standards and case strategy.
• Partner with Legal and regional SMEs on country-specific requirements and processes.
• Lead complex manager consultations and navigate difficult performance situations.
• Review case documentation and ensure quality and objectivity in outcomes.
• Exercise sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive employee matters.
• Mentor Performance Accountability Specialists and share best practices.
• Identify recurring themes and suggest improvements to SOPs and workflows.
• Interpret KPI trends to generate actionable insights for leadership.
