Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to resolve payroll tax issues across notices, corrections, amendments, and Pay & File with independence in a high-volume workload. The role requires hands-on experience resolving notices and preparing amended returns, mentoring colleagues, and growing technical depth.

The position is a virtual, hourly, non-exempt role with flexible hours and overtime eligibility, offering 20–40 hours per week as business needs allow and opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Hands-on payroll tax experience with notice resolution and amended return preparation across multiple states.
• Ability to read and resolve IRS/state notices and determine appropriate path.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and state returns.
• Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and jurisdictional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work: process runs, audit outputs, manage filings and payments.
• Research and resolve complex State and Federal notices, owning cases through closure.
• Prepare agency responses with supporting docs within deadlines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns independently on complex amendments.
• Support correction workflows and document the audit trail to resolution.
• Prioritize cases by SLA and maintain thorough case documentation.
• Perform trend analysis to identify process or system deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOP/KB updates and share coaching with teammates.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.
