Job summary

Baker Tilly US, LLP is seeking a Senior Payroll Consultant in a primarily remote role, supporting Payroll Operations, compliance, and process improvement within our HR & Payroll Consulting team. You’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver accurate, timely payroll solutions across multistate environments.

This role requires 3 years payroll experience, CPP preferred, and familiarity with ADP/Workday/SAP/Oracle–PeopleSoft/Paycom/Paycor.

Qualifications

• Three years of payroll experience, ideally in a consulting firm, payroll provider, or in-house payroll function.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and multistate compliance; familiarity with payroll tax forms and filings.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll consulting engagements across a range of clients, industries, and geographies.
• Assist in assessing and improving client payroll processes, controls, and procedures.
• Perform multistate payroll compliance reviews, including federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support payroll tax activities, including preparation and review of forms (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Assist with payroll setup and configuration, including earnings, deductions, and tax treatments.
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
