Job summary

Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Senior Patent Agent to partner with R&D, manufacturing, and legal teams to craft and execute IP strategies that protect transformational molecular diagnostics technologies.

You will draft and prosecute patent applications, oversee global filing efforts, and advise stakeholders on IP diligence for M&A. The role is remote in the United States and reports to the Deputy Chief IP Counsel.

Qualifications

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Agent.
• 4+ years patent prosecution experience in life sciences (molecular biology/biochemistry/diagnostics).
• Bachelor’s in a life sciences field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D, manufacturing and legal teams to develop IP protection strategies.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications in molecular diagnostics and related fields.
• Direct outside counsel on global patent filing and prosecution.
• Prepare and present IP training materials for invention disclosure and protection.
• Support IP diligence for M&A and related activities.
