Job summary

Celestica Engineering is seeking an Optical System Engineer to design and build market leading fiber optic switching networks. You will lead a technical team, define specifications, and work across hardware and software groups to enable high‑speed datacenter connectivity using Fiber Optics components.

The role focuses on 10 Gbit/s to 100 Gbit/s transceivers, participating in NPI processes, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in fiber optic communication and hardware product development.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; quick grasp of complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fiber optic transceiver modules and systems (10 Gbit/s–100 Gbit/s).
• Lead technical teams, define specifications and architecture for hardware platform development.
• Collaborate with R&D hardware and software teams on datacenter/campus network connectivity.
• Develop, automate, and document test procedures for qualification of transceivers and cables.
• Support interoperability demonstrations and external certification efforts.
• Assist in vendor selection and procurement strategy for optics components.
• Provide onsite engineering support for integrations and field trials.
