Job summary

Oklo Inc. is seeking a Senior Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer to lead criticality safety evaluations, develop the NCS basis, and architect the NCS program for a first-of-a-kind used nuclear fuel recycling facility in Santa Clara, CA or remote.

The role requires advanced knowledge of nuclear science, fuel cycle processes, and proficiency with Attila4MC, MCNP, SCALE, or Serpent. You will ensure regulatory compliance, document analyses, and support licensing while thriving in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years experience performing CSEs as part of a nuclear facility's safety basis.
• Understanding of NCS hazard identification and evaluation.
• Experience with regulatory requirements for NRC/NUREG guidance.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate NCS hazards for fuel cycle facilities.
• Perform CSEs to demonstrate subcriticality under normal and abnormal conditions.
• Develop the criticality code validation report and NCS documentation.
• Support safety basis development and licensing efforts.
• Develop and administer the NCS program, methodologies, and management measures.
