Job summary

SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System seeks a Senior Reimbursement Analyst – Net Revenue to perform complex net revenue analyses and support month-end close and budgeting for assigned hospitals and payers.

The role requires deep reimbursement knowledge, Excel proficiency, and collaboration with reimbursement, accounting, revenue cycle, and operations teams. Remote-friendly, with travel as needed. CPA or master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• Four (4) years of work experience in finance or accounting.
• CPA Certification (preferred).
• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (preferred).
• Two (2) years experience performing healthcare net revenue calculations, contractual reserve analysis, reimbursement budgeting, or month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced analytical and technical support for net revenue reimbursement activities, including productivity, quality, and process consistency.
• Serves as a senior technical resource regarding net revenue reimbursement for Analysts, groups, committees, and stakeholders.
• Collaborates with reimbursement, accounting, revenue cycle, and operations to analyze and resolve net revenue issues.
• Acts as subject matter expert for Revenue Cycle Analytics across System hospitals, delivering education and troubleshooting.
• Develops and maintains relationships with site accountants to assist with payments related to net revenue reimbursement.
• Prepares annual net revenue reimbursement budget models for assigned hospitals using regulations, data, and methodologies.
• Applies knowledge of IME, GME, DSH, RHC, bad debt, and other programs in net revenue analyses.
• Analyzes monthly contractual reserve estimates and journals; explains material variances.
• Provides training and knowledge transfer to analysts on procedures and methodologies.
• Supports process-improvement initiatives, system implementations, and cross-functional projects.
