Job summary

Baylor Genetics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep .NET expertise, ETL design/implementation, and large-scale database experience. You will build scalable systems, ensure data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable data integration and reporting capabilities.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture discussions, and drive continuous improvements while working in a remote setup that supports enterprise data operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8-10 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on .NET.
• Strong experience with database tools (SSIS) and database development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code aligned with industry best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to software development standards.
• ETL Development & Data Integration: design, develop, and optimize ETL processes.
• Collaborate with analysts and DBAs to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Provide mentorship and conduct reviews to promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and support project planning.
• Performance Tuning & Continuous Improvement: monitor and optimize system performance.
