Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specializing in Machine Learning for Drug Discovery. This remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within designated time zones and contribute to accelerating our drug discovery pipeline.

You will design advanced ML models, process diverse omics and chemical data, and collaborate with biologists and chemists to translate project needs into data science solutions. Ph.D.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in CS, Stats, bioinformatics, computational chemistry, or related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years in data science or ML with pharma/biotech focus.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Proficient in Python (essential) and R with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib.
• Experience with large biological/omics datasets.
• Strong understanding of statistics, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
• Remote work capability and strong communication in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ML models for target identification, lead optimization, and virtual screening.
• Build data pipelines and reproducible workflows for model training and evaluation.
• Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and pharmacologists to translate needs into data solutions.
• Develop predictive models for drug properties, ADMET, and clinical trial outcomes.
• Publish findings and present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to team growth.
