Job summary
Micro-Cap Solutions, a growing architectural millwork and commercial interiors firm, seeks a Senior Engineer / Drafter to advance the engineering and drafting of custom commercial projects. You will develop accurate shop drawings, review specifications, and collaborate with project management and production to ensure production-ready documentation for manufacturing.
Ideal candidates have strong millwork experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, and Microvellum, and enjoy coordinating
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in architectural millwork or related drafting
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar software
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and project specs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience coordinating with project management and production teams
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering and drafting work from kickoff to final release to the shop
- Develop and review shop drawings, submittals, fabrication drawings, and production docs
- Review drawings, specs, and requirements for accuracy
- Coordinate with PM, production, and drafting teams to resolve technical questions
- Identify and resolve design conflicts, field dimension discrepancies, material issues
- Ensure drawings and documentation are complete before release to production
- Support material takeoffs, hardware selection, and production planning
- Meet engineering and drafting deadlines to support schedules
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers/drafters
