Job summary

Boutique Recruiting seeks a Drafting Engineer to support drafting and production for high-end architectural millwork and custom cabinetry projects. This role collaborates with drafting, project management, and manufacturing teams to develop shop drawings, takeoffs, BOMs, and production-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of drafting/engineering/production experience; 8–10 years preferred for millwork or cabinetry
• Experience with architectural millwork or cabinetry fabrication/installation
• Proficient in CAD; able to read and develop shop/production drawings
• Strong ability to interpret redlines and translate design intent into buildable solutions
• Excellent organization and time-management in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Relevant experience can be considered in place of a specific degree, with a high school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and submittals for architectural millwork and cabinetry projects
• Review drawings and redlines to optimize fabrication and installation
• Create stock bills, cut lists, Bills of Materials, and material takeoffs
• Program CNC machinery and prepare production information for release to the shop
• Revise drawings based on project redlines, field conditions, and evolving specifications
• Prepare RFIs and coordinate with project managers, architects, plant personnel, and field teams to resolve issues
