Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our consultancy team supporting a major semiconductor facility. You will prepare mechanical cost estimates, take-offs, and manage commercial aspects of complex building services and process utility installations.

The role requires at least five years of relevant experience, strong contracts knowledge, and familiarity with procurement, value management and change control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in a Quantity Surveying and/or estimating role in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts.
• RICS accreditation valuable or working towards it.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large projects.
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
• On-site presence may be required depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial management support for specialist mechanical systems on projects.
• Independently evaluate tenders and prepare commercial recommendations.
• Review, validate, and negotiate variations and change orders.
• Provide side-by-side cost comparison and high-level review of change orders.
• Prepare estimates for complex change orders and assist with bid analysis.
• Use Bid Analysis Sheets and cost management tools to support project control.
